Mary K. Bolin, PhD, is Professor Emeritus in the University Libraries at the University of Nebraska--Lincoln, where she was a catalog and metadata librarian as well as Chair of Technical Services. She previously worked at the University of Idaho and University of Georgia Libraries and has extensive experience in cataloging, metadata, database maintenance, ILS migration, technical services workflow and planning, and in academic library and higher education administration and planning. She has expertise in cataloging all formats and all European languages, plus Japanese.

She is currently a Lecturer in the School of Information at San José State University.
